McDowell Financial Group associates are committed to staying on top of the financial services industry and developing our professional skills with 46 years of combined financial services experience, including regularly attending industry training and certification programs. In particular, Tom McDowell, the group’s senior partner has completed the curriculum and exams for the:
  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation through The American College
  • Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) professional designation through The American  College
  • FINRA Securities Registrations:  Series 6, Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)*
 
Tom McDowell's academic achievements include:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of South Dakota
Tom and his wife Susan live in Sioux Falls with their three children, Olivia, Wil, and John.
 
In December of 2005 Tom added Graham Van Horn as an associate and Karen Andrisen as office manager to McDowell Financial Group. As an added level of service Graham and Karen are properly educated and experienced to help you with your concerns.
 
Graham Van Horn has completed the curriculum and passed the exams for the:
  • FINRA Series 7
  • FINRA Series 66
  • Life/Health/Accident Insurance
Graham Van Horn’s academic achievements include:
  •  Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Augustana College (SD)
  •  Wharton Certificate in Retirement Planning
Graham and his wife, Becky, live in Sioux Falls.
 
Kim Willers academic achivements include:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from University of Nebraska

Kim and his wife, Katie live in Sioux Falls.  They have recently become "Empty Nesters" as their youngest, Hannah now attends the University of Montana.  Their youngest son, Jedidiah is studying Actuary Science at the University of Nebraska.  Leigh, our oldest daughter, owns her own business, Bella Rose, in Sioux Falls.  And our oldest son James, works with us at AXA Advisors, LLC as a Financial Professional.

Ross Menke has completed the curriculum and passed the exams for the:

  • FINRA Series 7
  • FINRA Series 66
  • Life/Health/Accident Insurance

Ross Menke's academic achivements include:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Iowa State University

Ross lives in Sioux Falls.

Karen Andrisen has been in the life insurance/financial services industry for more than 25 years. Customer service/satisfaction is her highest priority.
 
Karen lives in Sioux Falls with her husband, Steve.
 
Jeanne Parker is the newest member to McDowell Financial Group.  She is fairly new to the insurance world and has enjoyed learning about it.
